Past Countinuous Tense

         Past Countinuous Tense digunakan ketika menceritakan kejadian yang sedang belangsung pada masa lampau. Dalam pemaikaianya Simple Past Countinuous ini biasanya selalu diiringi dengan Simple Past Tense.

Contohnya : Last year I was living in Brazil

Pola kalimat dalam tenses ini adalah

1. Positive Pattern

S + was/were + Verb 4 (ing) + ………… When + S + Verb 2 ………….

S + was/were + Verb 2 + ………… While + S + Verb 4 (ing) ………….

Contohnya :

* She was cooking rice when Tom came to his house yesterday

*  he came to ani’s house while she was cooking rice

 2. Negative Pattern

S + was/were +  not + Verb 4 (ing) + ……… when + S + Verb 2 ……..

contohnya :

* she wasn’t cooking rice when Tom came yesterday

* They weren’t playing football when the rain fell down

3. Interrogative Pattern

Was/were + S + Verb 4 (ing) ……….. when + S + Verb 2 ……… ?

contohnya :

* Was she cooking rice when Tom came to her house yesterday ?

* Were they going to the market when I went to padang ?

  4. QW Question Pattern

QW + was/were + S + Verb 4 (ing) ……….. when + S + Verb 2 ………. ?

contohnya :

* what was she cooking when Tom came to her house yesterday ?

* Where did he go while his father was coming to the home ?

* Why were you go when I looked for you ? 

        Setelah anda melihat contoh diatas apakah ada keraguan pada penggunakan While dan when nya ??,,,Oke … saya akan jelaskan >>> pada penggunaan while, maka sebelum dari while maka tenses nya harus past tense, dan begitu sebaliknya >_^
