Compound Nouns

compound nounsCompound Nouns adalah noun (kata benda) yang terbentuk dari penggabungan 2 buah kata atau lebih, dimana dari gabungan keduanya di peroleh sebuah makna / arti sebuah kata benda. Compound noun biasanya terbentuk dari gabungan [noun + noun] atau [adjective + noun] dan juga bisa dari kombinasi kata – kata lain.

Ada tiga buah bentuk kata yang sudah di gabung (compound nouns)

  1. Menggunakan spasi – contohnya >> tennis shoe
  2. Hyphenated – menggunakan garis penghubung, contohnya >> six-pack
  3. Closed or solid – penggabungan dengan cara menyatukan kata –katanya, contoh >> bedroom
